European construction product compliance
CE Marking
Decorative wallcoverings placed on the European market are covered by applicable construction product requirements and relevant harmonised standards, including EN 15102. Product-specific Declarations of Performance state relevant performance characteristics and are available in the DESARDI Downloads section.

Reaction to Fire
Fire performance is particularly important for hospitality, commercial, public and contract interiors. Fire documentation is available for selected DESARDI® products where applicable.
Classifications can be product- and installation-specific. The tested wallcovering, adhesive, substrate and complete assembly may determine whether a classification applies to a project.

ASTM E84
Projects in North America may require ASTM E84 or related documentation. ASTM E84 evaluates the comparative surface-burning characteristics of materials, including flame spread and smoke development.

Indoor Air Quality
Indoor air quality is an important consideration in hospitality, workplace, healthcare, residential and other interior environments. Selected DESARDI® products have been evaluated for VOC emissions and may carry classifications such as French VOC A+.

Why certification is product-specific
One report cannot always be applied across an entire product range. Three factors determine which documentation is relevant.
Material construction
Vinyl, non-woven, textile, natural textured, glass fibre and PVC-free wallcoverings can have different performance characteristics.
Installation system
For reaction-to-fire classifications in particular, the complete tested assembly may matter, including the wallcovering, adhesive, installation method and substrate.
Market requirements
Requirements can differ between countries and sectors, including the EU, UK, US, marine, hospitality, public buildings, healthcare and commercial interiors.

Print Technology Certifications
DESARDI® wallcoverings are developed for professional digital printing systems. Selected materials have been tested or certified for specific printer and ink technologies, including HP Latex and, where applicable, UV, UVgel and eco-solvent systems.
Print compatibility concerns production performance. It is separate from regulatory certification for an interior application.

Depending on the product, this may include FSC information, environmental declarations, recyclability or material composition information, PVC-free product documentation and other relevant statements.
